Reset all propagated. Enjoy.
No active announcements
Since 17 September 2025 we have counted 44 resets; there are usually about 5 days between them. This is an observation, not a schedule: we do not predict the next reset. It varies: 3 of 44 resets were announced in advance. An announcement is not a reset: it is not counted until the reset is confirmed.

The reason comes from the company’s message. Coinciding with a release is not treated as a reason.

A reset the company puts in your account for you to apply when you choose. We show such resets separately and do not add them to regular resets.
You cannot request one. OpenAI runs global resets itself, usually for all paid plans at once: every such reset is on this page, and alerts tell you the moment it happens. Sometimes OpenAI gives accounts a banked reset — it shows up in Codex Settings → Usage and you apply it when you choose.
In Codex open Settings → Usage (in the app, the CLI or on the web), pick the available reset and confirm; you see when it expires before you apply it. A full banked reset clears both the 5-hour and the weekly window, and your weekly reset date moves. OpenAI help article
It is different for every account: Codex has a 5-hour and a weekly window, and your exact reset time is in Settings → Usage, or /status in the CLI. A global reset from OpenAI clears limits for everyone at once and cannot be saved for later, unlike a banked reset. Those global resets are what this page tracks. OpenAI help article
